Central highlands of Sri Lanka is a recognized world heritage site. The site comprises the Peak wilderness Protected area, the Horton Plains national park, and the knuckles conservation forest. These are rainforests which harbor a variety of mammal species, endemic flowering plants, and endemic bird species.

Day 01

Kandy

On arrival, you will be met by our English speaking representative and accompanied to the regal city of Kandy

Day 02

After breakfast conduct a city tour of Kandy, Kandy is the second largest city in the country after Colombo, located in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It was the last capital of the ancient kings’ era of Sri Lanka and was declared a world heritage site. Kandy is the home of the Temple of the Tooth Relic of Buddha. The city lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea.
In the afternoon, you will visit Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens. It is renowned for its collection of orchids. The total area of the botanical garden is 147 acres and the garden includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. Attached to it is the National Herbarium of Sri Lanka.

Day 03

Train Trip To Hatton

The train leaves for Hatton at 11 a.m. Enjoy the breathtaking view as you slowly pass towering mountains and the gorgeous vista of Sri Lanka’s hill country

Day 04

After breakfast enjoy a sightseeing tour of beautiful Hatton.

Hatton serves as a gateway to Adam’s Peak (Sri Pada) and Sinharaja Forest Reserve, it is better known for its tea plantations and industry. Major attractions include Maanica Pillayaar / Sri Manickapillayar Kovil (temple) – dedicated to Ganesh, SubramaniamKovil – dedicated to Murugan,Sri Muthu Mariyamman Kovil,Sinha Malai Tunnel( the longest railway tunnel in Sri Lanka),Shri Nigrodharamaya Buddhist Temple

Day 05

After breakfast proceed to NuwaraEliya. This drive is through the scenic countryside.

In the afternoon take a city tour of Nuwara Eliya, which is also known as little England, a city with a picturesque landscape and well known for its temperate, coolest climate. It is at an altitude of 1,868 m (6,128 feet) and is considered to be the most important location for tea production in Sri Lanka. The city is overlooked by Pidurutalagala, the tallest mountain in Sri Lanka.

Day 06

Horton Plains

Early morning excursion to Horton Plains with a packed breakfast where you can take a short trek to the beautiful Bakers Falls and the magnificent World’s End. The Horton Plains are the headwaters of three major Sri Lankan rivers, the Mahaweli, Kelani, and Walawe. In Sinhala, the plains are known as Maha Eliya Plains. Stone tools dating back to Balangoda culture have been found here. The plains’ vegetation is grasslands interspersed with montane forest and includes many endemic woody plants. Large herds of Sri Lankan sambar deer feature as typical mammals and the park is also an Important Bird Area with many species not only endemic to Sri Lanka but restricted to the Horton Plains.

Day 07

After breakfast proceed to the town of Bandarawela.

 Ancient Dhowa Buddhist rock temple is one of the well-known heritage sites in this region and the Roman Catholic Church, St. Anthony’s Church and Methodist church are some other historic places to visit. Bandarawela town, tinted with a colonial past resting among lush forestation has found its niche among its visitors as a base for eco-tourism.

Day 08

After breakfast proceed to Negombo.

Negombo is a major tourist destination in Sri Lanka and offers one of the best sandy beaches on the west coast of Sri Lanka. This city is an ideal and liberal place with luxury, tropical lifestyle, for those who want quick access to and from the country’s main international airport and also to Colombo city. The 100 km canal network running through the city is still used. Outrigger canoes and modern watercraft ply this route daily, for trade and tourism. Negombo is popular for water sports among visitors.

Day 09

After breakfast proceed to the Airport
