Day 01

Our English speaking representative will be there to welcome you upon arrival and accompany you to the hotel where you will enjoy spending the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 02 – 03

Leave for Wilpattu National Park after breakfast

Wilpattu National Park is the largest and one of the oldest National Parks in Sri Lanka. It is also among the top national parks, world-renowned for its leopard population.
The unique feature of this park is the existence of “Willus” (Natural lakes) – Natural, sand-rimmed water basins or depressions that fill with rainwater. The park is 131, 693 hectares and nearly sixty lakes (Willu) and tanks are found spread throughout Wilpattu.
Meet the camp crew and settle down at your campsite which is located at the border of the park.

Day 04

After breakfast depart to Habarana

A popular tourist destination for safari lovers as it is the starting point for safaris in the nearby Habarana jungle and an exciting safari at the Minneriya sanctuary which is heavily populated by elephants.Elephant back riding is also an attraction in this small city. Large numbers of Sri Lankan elephants are attracted to grass fields on the edges of the reservoir during the dry season.The Minneriya tank contributes to

a popular tourist destination for safari lovers as it is the starting point for safaris in the nearby Habarana jungle and an exciting safari at the Minneriya sanctuary which is heavily populated by elephants.Elephant back riding is also an attraction in this small city. Day 05

After breakfast proceed to Sri Lanka’s Hill Capital, Kandy, en route visiting the Matale Spice Gardens.

Kandy is the second largest city in the country after Colombo, located in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It was the last capital of the ancient kings’ era of Sri Lanka and was declared a world heritage site. Kandy is the home of the Temple of the Tooth Relic of Buddha. The city lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea.

Day 06

After early breakfast leave for Dambana a remote jungle village where you can meet and learn the traditions of the indigenous Vedda people of Sri Lanka.

In the evening visit Temple of the Tooth Relic, the Royal Palace complex of the former kingdom of Kandy which houses the relic of the tooth of the Lord Buddha, founder of Buddhism. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site mainly due to the temple. According to Sri Lankan legends, after the parinirwana (passing away) of Buddha, his left canine tooth relic was retrieved and preserved in Kalinga and smuggled to the Island by Princess Hemamala and her husband Prince Dantha on the instructions of her father King Guhasiva.

Day 07 – 08

After breakfast proceed to the last major undisturbed area of rainforest in Sri Lanka, Sinharaja Rainforest.

It is also a national park and a biodiversity hotspot in Sri Lanka. The only way to get to the reserve is by foot, and excellent park guides or freelance guides can lead you along slippery trails pointing out the wealth of stunning plant, birds, and animal-life, and is a real treat to bird watchers. It is of international significance and World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The reserve is only 21 km (13 mi) from east to west, and a maximum of 7 km (4.3 mi) from north to south, but it is a treasure trove of endemic species, including trees, insects, amphibians, reptiles (45 species and 21 of them endemic), birds (160 species and 20 of them endemic), and mammals.

Day 09 – 10

Leave after breakfast for Yala National Park.

Yala National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka. The park consists of five blocks, two of which are now open to the public, and also adjoining parks. The blocks have individual names such as Ruhuna National Park(block 1) and Kumana National Park. The park is best known for its variety of wild animals. It is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan leopards, and aquatic birds.

Day 11 – 12

After breakfast leave for Hikkaduwa

The World famous for its Coral sanctuary located a few hundred meters offshore. The sanctuary has approximately seventy varieties of multi colored corals. Arrive at your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure relaxing by the beautiful beach, reputed as the second best surfing spot in Sri Lanka.

Day 09

After breakfast proceed to the Airport

Note:

In the event of one of our expedition members becoming ill or injured, they will be evacuated to the nearest good-quality hospital. During the trek, we have a backup vehicle available to help. Any incidents will be managed by our operations staff in Sri Lank you must be covered by adequate travel insurance. Your insurance must include cover for medical expenses, injury, and cost of repatriation.
