The sea around Sri Lanka is a prime location for most challenging marine game fishing while white water rafting, Kayaking, and canoeing are famous water sports in the country. For all of you those who are keen, we provide many opportunities to experience the thrills of hiking and trekking. Trek through the nature of Horton plains, to Adams peak (Sri Pada), or when in Kandy experience the breathtaking knuckles range wilderness area, which will take your breath away and camp through the night.

Day 01

On arrival, you will be welcomed by English-speaking representative and accompanied to Negombo, where you will spend the day at leisure.

Day 02 – 03

Leave Negombo and drive to your campsite of the Knuckles mountain range. The Knuckles Mountain Range and it’s forest trails lies in central Sri Lanka, in the Districts of Matale and Kandy, and are the most suitable for trekking in Sri Lanka. After settling in, you will take a trek through the villages and mountains. It has many nature trails, cleared by the forest department such as, mini worlds end trails in the west and east, Pitawala pathana trail, ash cave trail which is very exciting. Also, there are interconnected footpaths of cardamom planters, toddy tapers, tea plantation workers, farmers, and villages.

Day 04 – 05

After breakfast, you will be driven to Kithulgala

A small town in the west of Sri Lanka. It is in the wet zone rainforest, which gets two monsoons each year, and is one of the wettest places in the country. The breathtaking scenery here was used for the filming of the Academy Award-winning  movie “The Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed on the Kelani River near Kitulgala, Kitulgala is also a base for white-water rafting,which starts a few kilometers upstream.  Kitulgala forest reserve would be the ideal rainforest habitat to spot most of the lowland endemic species of birds and rain forest trails.

In the afternoon hike through the Kelani Valley Forest Reserve which was established to protect the watershed of the Kelani River and is home to many of Sri Lanka’s endemic fauna & flora. This area is also famous for its adventure activities including flat water and white water rafting which rapids down the Kelani River and jungle treks or mountain bike ride through jungle-clad hills and plantations growing low-country tea and rubber. The unique experience of visiting this Kitulgala forest reserve is the boat trip across the river, waterfall abseiling, confidence jump and stream slides.

Day 06

After breakfast leave for Udawlawe

Udawalawe National Park lies on the boundary of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces, in Sri Lanka. The national park was created to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River, as well as to protect the catchment of the reservoir. Udawalawe is also a good birdwatching site, and an important habitat for Sri Lankan elephants, which are relatively easy to see in its open habitats. Many elephants are attracted to the park because of the Udawalawe reservoir,with a herd of about 250 believed to be permanently resident

Day 07

After breakfast, you will be able to conduct a morning safari at Udawalawe National Park.
In the evening, you will be transferred to a beach Hotel in Bentota

Day 08

Beach Day

Bentota is a world famous tourist attraction, with a beautiful beachfront, a local airport (Bentota River Airport) and a handful of world-class hotels. It is also a destination for water sports and helicopter joy rides. Bentota delivers an ancient art of healing called Ayurveda. It is also famous for toddy production, an alcoholic beverage made out of coconut nectar. When in Bentota you can visit the turtle hatchery, a community-based turtle hatchery and turtle watching project set up by the Turtle Conservation Project in association with the Wildlife Department of Sri Lanka. Brief Garden, the house, and garden of renowned Sri Lankan landscaped architect Bevis Bawa is one of the main highlights of Bentota, for its unique anticultural designs and landscape.

Note:

In the event of one of our expedition members becoming ill or injured, they will be evacuated to the nearest good-quality hospital. During the trek, we have a backup vehicle available to help. Any incidents will be managed by our operations staff in Sri Lank you must be covered by adequate travel insurance. Your insurance must include cover for medical expenses, injury, and cost of repatriation.
